emma french press
lacquered steel with beechwood handle
The Emma collection was designed by the Copenhagen duo HolmbäckNordentoft as a direct conversation with Danish Modern — the golden era of the 1950s and 60s when Arne Jacobsen was making the Ant Chair and Scandinavian design was redefining what an everyday object could be. The Emma French Press is that conversation applied to a morning ritual: lacquered steel, FSC-certified moulded beechwood, and a form considered enough to sit on the table rather than retreat to a cabinet.
It brews up to five cups and doubles as a vacuum jug, keeping coffee hot long after the press. But the more honest reason it’s here is that it makes the first ten minutes of the day feel more deliberate. Some objects earn their place by doing their job invisibly. This one earns its place by being worth looking at while you wait.
selected because it turns the most ordinary daily ritual into something worth doing slowly.
